Freight Academy applicants are encouraged to complete FHWA’s Integrating Freight in the Transportation Planning Process (NHI 139009). Applicants who have taken this course by the time of submitting the nomination form will be given preference. This course is available online.

To enroll in the course:

• Go to www.nhi.fhwa.dot.gov.
• Click on “Enroll in a Session”.
• Enter 139006 in the Course Number box and click on Search.
• Click on the course link in the table.
